"The Birth of Taco Tracker 2.8"
Posted 5/17/2011 2:17:00 PM
The day was Tuesday April 5, 2011.  As with every Tuesday, this was Taco Tuesday.  However, it wasn't just any ordinary Taco Tuesday, it also happened to be my 28th birthday.  I knew I was going to eat tacos for lunch because that's what I do on virtually every Tuesday. However, I didn't know the impact on my life this particular birthday meal would have.  I hopped in the car and headed down the road to Taco John's where I placed my usual order of 3 crispy tacos with no sauce and a medium Potato Ole.

On the ride back to work, I was left to my thoughts.  Thoughts of tacos filled my brain.  I love tacos.  I eat them typically every Tuesday, and also anytime I feel like a quick, cheap, delicious meal.  I wondered to myself, "Self, I wonder how many tacos you eat in a year?" At that very moment, I knew I struck gold!  It was my birthday, what better way to figure out how many tacos I eat in a year than to track how many tacos I eat as a 28 year old.  From there, TACO TRACKER 2.8 was born!

The goal of TACO TRACKER 2.8 is not some gluttonous ambition to bludgeon myself with an enormous amount of tacos, but rather a way for me to know honestly how many tacos I consume in a year.  It's not my goal to eat anymore tacos than I would've eaten if I hadn't been tracking.  I will simply eat tacos whenever I feel like eating tacos; however, now I'll be keeping track.  Like a social security number, or phone number, I feel the amount of tacos one consumes is information that everyone should know.

I thank everyone for their support and dedication in making this year TACORIFIC!

Sincerely,
"Taco" Tom Meersman

This is great Taco. One year I kept track of how many kittens I ate. At the end of the year, the number was zero. But, as you said, it's important to know. Good luck with your tacos, I look forward to tracking your tracking.
